Animoto, Apple AirPlay Changing How Families Watch Home Movies
Home movies sure have come a long way, no? Remember back in the old days when Dad flipped off the lights and cursed under his breath as he tried to fire up that impossibly cumbersome movie projector which was pointed to the bare spot on the living room wall? If not, then surely you remember the VCR numbers which constantly needed the tracking adjusted.
Now, thanks to handheld recording devices and YouTube, everything’s changed. So my kids watch our home movies on my MacBook Pro. But thanks to Animoto, they can now watch them on TV. And I won’t have to mess with burning a DVD to make it happen. Instead, all I’ll need is Animoto and a click of my mouse.
Animoto, a video slideshow creation service, has just announced that it’s officially integrated with Apple AirPlay, which means that Animoto videos created on your iPad, iPod Touch or iPhone can be viewed on your television with one simple click. Professional quality videos filmed on the go instantaneously available on HD TV: sounds too good to be true, right?
Wrong. Animoto CEO Brad Jefferson had this to say about the exciting new development:
“Animoto videos have always looked great on a big-screen TV and now it’s one-click easy for families to enjoy their Animoto videos on their home televisions without messing with wires or requiring a DVD Player…In less time than it takes to pop popcorn, you can now create a professional-looking Animoto video from photos on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch and play it for your family on your TV.”
Follow these simple steps to make it a reality for your family:
Update your iOs to version 4.3.
Make sure your Animoto and Apple TV applications are in sync for this version.
Tap your AirPlay icon as you begin playing your Animoto video and select Apple TV.
The TV viewing option can be accessed through your iPad or your Animoto iPhone app. It’s also accessible via mobile Safari on your iPod Touch, iPad or iPhone.
Now, not only can anyone create a high quality video at virtually anytime they choose to do so, but they can also watch in on HD TV with the click of a mouse. Not bad. Not bad at all.
