Masters Golf Special to Air on CBS Sports

"Jim Nantz Remembers Augusta: The 1975 Masters" will air on Sunday, and include an interview with winner Jack Nicklaus.

CBS Sports will broadcast Jim Nantz Remembers Augusta: The 1975 Masters on Sunday, April 10 at 1 p.m. ET.

Nantz is on his 26th master for CBS Sports; his 24th as host.

The show will chronicle the memorable showdown between Jack Nicklaus, Tom Weiskopf and Johnny Miller in 1975, before Nicklaus sunk a 40-foot birdie putt in his 16th hole to win his record fifth Masters victory.

"Back in 1975 people didn’t have TiVo or DVRs to be able to record events if they missed them on television," Nantz says in a statement. "This is a rare mulligan for people to look back and experience this historic tournament. It is a privilege to bring back the 1975 Masters, considered by many golf purists to have been the most dramatic final round in the history of this storied event."

The one-hour special includes a conversation with six-time Masters champion Nicklaus, as well as Weiskopf and Miller.

Nantz is executive producer. Chris Svendsen is director and producer.

Masters Golf: Will Tiger Woods Rediscover His Magic at the Masters?

Round One of the Master's Tournament starts on Thursday, and Tiger Woods has proclaimed he is still confident in his game, despite a lackluster 2011.

Woods has been in the rough, both on the golf course and off it, ever since he crashed his SUV into a tree in late 2009, spawning a litany of mistresses to come out of the woodwork, eventually leading to Woods' divorce with Elin Nordegren.

Woods used to be known for the Master's Tournament, from 1997 to 2005, when he won four green jackets.

But those days are long behind him.

Woods isn't favored to win the Master's for the first time since 1999 and he's dropped to No. 7 in the world rankings.

There was a time when Woods being No. 7 in the world would have been laughable. No one ever thought he would just be another golfer trying to eke a victory out.

But that's what he has become, and I don't see this changing anytime soon, and that includes at the 2011 Master's.

He isn't the same player as he was before, that much is clear.

Sure, he could catch fire and rattle off a rousing victory, he's done it before.

But that fire can only sustain for streaky periods these days, and he simply burns out at times on the golf course.

Phil Mickelson is the favorite this year, and he should be after winning the Master's last year and coming from behind to win the Houston Open this weekend.

Woods has burned out after an unbelievable stretch that made him the Michael Jordan of his sport (no one will dominate golf the way Woods once did).

Mickelson has simply sustained his fire longer, and that will show on Thursday.
