West Virginia man pleads guilty to dealing in contraband cigarettes, oxycodone tablets
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - A Charleston, W.Va., man has pleaded guilty to conspiring to sell more than 3.4 million contraband cigarettes.
Basim Ali Talouzi also pleaded guilty Monday to distribution of oxycodone. He faces up to 25 years in prison and a $1.25 million fine when he is sentenced June 27 in U.S. District Court in Huntington.
According to prosecutors, Talouzi conspired with others to buy, transport and sell contraband cigarettes between July 2010 and last month. The total tax loss to West Virginia on the 17,112 cartons of contraband smokes was just over $94,000.
Talouzi also admitted selling oxycodone pills to undercover federal agents.

Suspect in December shooting arrested
CAPE CORAL: An arrest has been made in a December 2010 shooting after an alleged drug deal went bad, according to Cape Coral Police.
According to police, a woman met Eric Bernard Otto at a pain clinic in Fort Myers. The woman agreed to sell the man her leftover Oxycodone pills at the end of the month.
The two agreed to meet at the Bob Evans restaurant on Del Prado Boulevard on December 11th, reports said.
The woman's fiance met with Otto to exchange fifteen 30 mg Oxycodone pills for money, reports said.
Otto took the pills, but did not hand over the cash. The woman's fiance grabbed onto Otto as he attempted to leave without paying, reports said.
Otto then shot the man in the stomach.
The victim drove himself to a gas station across the street and Otto drove off in his own vehicle.
Otto was arrested by the US Marshal's Office Fugitive Task Force on April 4th at his girlfriend's house in Fort Myers.
Otto faces charges of robbery with a weapon and aggravated battery with a firearm.
